Hokay so the official-est news I found about the UK release of the Twin Peaks DVD comes from myspace, of all places. What are the chances? as Harry would say.
Turns out Angelo Badalamenti has a page. They’re releasing a CD soundtrack at the same time as the DVD – mid 2007, says Mr B. W00t, etc.
While we’re waiting here’s a dose of digital darkness from the Lynchster himself (try and ignore the subtitles – it was at Cannes).

I actually bought the Region 1 copy from Amazon as I couldn’t be arsed waiting any longer. It’s not arrived yet but I’m waiting patiently.

Fantastic news, well spotted.
In Lynch related news I’m currently hooked on Season 2, absolutely loving it because I’ve not seen it before. Although I did unfortunately know about BOB because I’d rather foolishly watched the Fire Walk With Me movie after finishing Season 1.
It’s a Region 1 DVD so I watch it in my bedroom where my multi-region DVD player is. This helps as my flatmate thinks Twin Peaks is ‘weird’ so I wouldn’t want to subject him to it, especially when there is cricket or sailing on Sky Sports, lol.
I end up watching episodes in bed and my normal hit the pillow, 10 seconds later I’m sleeping routine has now jeopardised due to the tension in most of the episodes I’m currently watching.
Oh, I love it. No dreams of red rooms or giants just yet though.

Ah magical, a treat there.
> weird
FFS! Maybe when it was first aired, but not to today’s audience surely.
Mind you if there’s a bit of FUCKING CRICKET on I can see the dilemma.

‘Fire Walk With Me’ was the first Twin Peaks thing I ever saw, so my watching of the series was a wee bit skewed.
I had a good time recently (actually, probably about 2 years ago) while boozed out of my mind, watching FWWM, and listening to 69 Love Songs by Magnetic Fields, while falling in and out of consciousness. At one moment it all synched up and became the most terrifying thing ever.
Halcyon days.
Ha! Cylon. Days?

Aforementioned Lynch doco is UK-premiering at the Edinburgh film festival, 20th and 24th.
Of course I am committed elsewhere both fudging nights.

Well, I’m committing myself to seven nights in a row of Berlin Alexanderplatz. Anyone care to join me? I thought not.
I have waited at least five years for this!

Not watching all 15 hours in one go?

I didn’t know Alexanderplatz was originally done for TV – now it makes sense.
In other news the Lynch doc is showing in London on the 18th and in NYC on the 26th.
And I still can’t make either date *sparks fly from teeth*

It’s a pity you’re going to miss the screening in New York. I hear there is a Q & A afterwards with the ‘mystery director’.

Yeah in the 80s West Germany got Alexanderplatz on TV, Communist Poland got Dekalog, and what do we have to show for this era?
(feel free to tell me)

I’m a big fan of The Singing Detective, 1986

Never seen it. There’s a review of it on Lovefilm entitled “misogynistic masterpiece”.
