It will soon be that time for me. Here’s the order of events.
The Scotland-based get-together is on Friday March 9th, so mark that well if you’re north of the border.
phase one, early evening
To begin the festivities we’re heading through to Glasgow to get trashed up watching LCD Soundsystem at the Barrowlands. The Barrowlands is a fantastic venue, so if you haven’t been before, now is the time.
You can buy LCD Soundsystem tickets from the nice people at Ents24. Failing that (i.e. if they are sold out, you cheapskate) I might have one spare.
I will however be putting my old, old hand in my pocket to pay for a vehicle to take us all back to Edinburgh – I didn’t want to inflict the late night boozetrain on everyone. It may be a pimped up glamorous ride or it may be practical, it’s too early to say.
phase two, about midnight
Once we’re back in Edinburgh we’re heading for Stu’s flat (please note, not my flat this time) for the usual late night nonsense. If you don’t fancy LCD, then this is the juncture at which we meet.
Drop me a text and hopefully see you on the 9th!

So I was thinking that the peeps going to LCD should come round to mine for fizz and presentchucking beforehand, then we could leave for Glasgow en masse..
Good Plan?

I’ll be joining at “phase two” so please don’t all pass out in the “vehicle” : )

OK I am clearly paddling in the shallow end of senility.
Again I have found myself spending minutes carefully putting my earphones on and making sure the wire is out of the way, before completely forgetting to actually play any music through the damn things.

Lol.
Maybe one of these. Love the amount of detail in the article.

I often find that in wikipedia, the things with the most detail tend to be the geekiest – warhammer, computer games, comics. I have no problem with this. I just spent half an hour refreshing my knowledge of Necromunda and Battlefleet Gothic. I also read some stuff about OCD.
God bless you Wikipedia, and the social outcasts who write in you!

How is everyone feeling? I almost feel like a human being today, in dire need of a pub lunch : )

I am still light headed, not sure it was a good idea to mix malaria tablets with other substances…

My voice no longer works, serves me right for abusing my body when it it is already suffering. I’m off to Boots for a bottle of Benylin, mmmmm.

I got up late on Saturday and sipped a couple of beers before going to bed and having a good old nap. Sunday was clean up day which went well until I realised I’d misplaced two tickets for Arcade Fire.
These tickets are gold-dust so I was obviously traumatised and searched everywhere in my room, even going so far as to rake around in the bin in the kitchen. But alas it was all for nought.
I still went through to Glasgow last night and managed to snag a ticket from a tout, literally at the doorway of the Barrowlands. It was also his very last one. He wanted to charge me £60, managed to get him down to £50. Bless the touts, even though they are a bunch of cunts.
Good show though, knackered today and it’s Deftones tonight at Carling Academy. No rest for the wicked.

And very nice of you it was to host the party. I hope you were sufficiently rewarded for the clean-up.

Yeah, cheers Stu. A valiant effort. Must admit, I did catch myself thinking, ‘fuck this in my house’. Especially when your neighbours came to visit. I had an awesome one – Defo owe you a beer.

My reward for cleaning up was discovering I’d lost those tickets.
I think I must have poured at least half the beer I bought down the sink. Why can’t people finish cans of beer at parties? This is one of life’s great unanswered questions.
