I’ve upgraded TF to use the now-really-quite-special WordPress 2.1.
Check the link for details, but headlines are:
- spellchecked posts
- autosaved posts (just for CJ)
- the crappy image menu is now done properly
- at last! a proper HTML code editor
Hurray for Open Source. While we’re here, note that you can carbonate your posts using images uploaded in the past – check the ‘Browse All’ upload link.

Cheers for that.
Any updates on the theme of my petition?

Lol, missed that the first time round.
I think the proposal has moved into the phase ‘definitely will be done, eventually’.

> I’m told this website used to be good
I missed that too unbelievably enough.
Personally I don’t think this argument holds much weight, aaronbell.org is fine by me. This site was originally made for some travel writing and evolved into the blog it is today over a number of years. This has involved massive overhauls and migration to new software all of which Bell did alone in his own time with no assistance from anyone. Even I – with my snazzy IT skills and Computer Science degree – have not provided any help or assistance and I know how much a pain in the arse these computer things can be. And these domains don’t come for free either you know…
So I think we should all be happy and grateful to have a hassle-free website we can use for posting up topical nonsense and such, even though it isn’t as good as it used to be.

No worries, thanks for the update. Being totally untech I am guilty of being slightly oblivious to how much work such matters involve, so don’t mean to seem ungrateful. I am, of course, happy to help in any way I can.
