I’m gonna watch this tonight. Looks good.
Incidentally, it was Poliakoff’s Shooting the Past that gave me my rather romanticised view of archives.

Oh my god, Poliakoff is an absolute genius. I adored Shooting the Past. Its one of those dramas that really benefits from being written and directed by the same person. So witty and eccentric, Timothy Spall is fabulous in it.
Of course, The Tribe pushed all the right buttons, but for different reasons . . . Before Anna Friel all too sadly realised she was being typecast : )
I saw the review in The Observer today. Should be good, CJ.

Hey, did Poliakoff write another about a history lecturer at some university who was obsessed with town planning? Really manic guy, quite sexy.. dragged his students around London showing them bits if architecture that no one knew about because it had either been built over or forgotten?
Ring any bells peeps? I don’t think it was his.. On BBC1 about 5 years ago! Fabulous.

I’ve not seen anything like that. Can you let me know if you find out what it is?
The only other one I’ve seen is Caught on a Train, which is quite old I think and I had Perfect Strangers on my Screenselect list before I cancelled.

Friends and Crocodiles had a hella bad time on Newsnight Review. Disregard their opinions though – neither Mark Kermode or Tom Paulin were involved.

I missed it!
I want to be like Kirsty Wark when I grow up. No really, I do. I think she’s fabulous. (I’m sure her vagina has teeth too) There was a feature on her in Scotland on Sunday today. She has a pretty study.
Lord, why do I keep saying yes to doing free work for friends? I’m such a walkover.
Another fine tangent.

Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much.
I agree, Kirsty Wark is great. I want to be like her when I grow up.
