Is anyone else unmoved by all this Nelson nonsense? I mean, how important can one guy actually be? It seems a bit petty to still hate the French after all this time but its still a national pastime. The great funeral of Nelson was obviously a non-subtle attempt to promote a feeling of Britishness amongst the English, the newly tamed Irish and the unruly Scots: and theyre still trying to cash in on the poor fellow.
The closest I came to Nelson was clambering over some lions in Trafalgar Square the other night and a drunken attempt to climb his column (yes, really! Duh) Its the first time Id ever actually stopped to ponder Nelson and Trafalgar and what it actually meant, and it took the influence of real French wine to induce this reverie.

Isn’t Nelson not ‘istory and if this is the case, extremely dull. Plus the fact ‘e’s a bit of a girl : pStuff happened, people died and we talk about it to this day, whether or not it has any relevance to me or not. Much like scrutinised safety checks before 9/11 happened or having to go shopping whilst on Electric Avenue(runs parallel with Union Street) for a bang-on Mp3 player and being told by a beardy-red-man:

For the un-Uno’d like me Uno is a card game looking suspiciously like a pay-to-play version of some really old basic card game that everyone played at some point and doubtless called by a different name as – like the nebulously varied word ‘piggyback’ – the cultural cohesion keeping the name constant only stretches about 10 miles in any direction.
In any case I’m ultra-disappointed Uno is not some mega free MMORPG or similar like Ultima or Diablo or something.
