Something I always feared would happen has happened… a nutjob has gone postal at a concert and embarked on a killing spree. But what is most shocking is that it was a member of the band who was targeted. Shot multiple times in the head at point blank range.
I’m not the worlds biggest Pantera fan so I’m not 100% sure of the politics involved in the breakup of that band but reports are suggesting that the guy was a disgruntled fan who was apparently rather upset about the now deceased ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott apparently breaking up the group… what a fuckin’ retard. Go listen to some Slayer and cheer the fuck up.
Not only does this reawaken the heated debate about gun violence in the USA but it also raises questions over security at events such as this. The one thing I’m amazed about is that there was no tough security at an event like this… Which was A Sweaty Heavy Metal Gig In The Heartland of the Good ‘ol US of A. You’d think there would be some sort of security check. Those fannies should check out the tighter-than-post-9/11-airport-security security that is employed at the Barras in Glasgow to see how it’s done.
Will going to gigs ever be the same again after this? I’m expecting a huge furore over this one.
Regardless of whether you’re a fan of the music or not you’ve got to admit that at the end of the day an amazing musician has died needlessly and that makes me sad. Couldn’t this guy have got his hands on tickets for Robbie Williams? Or maybe paid a visit to the recording of Band Aid 20?
I’m shocked and appalled.

One time at a B1K gig I nearly ran up and shot Kieron in the face. I really should be more tolerant of slightly skew-wiff guitar tuning.
