You make a good point about the snappy batter. Maybe the CGI people have a tough time making his mouth are amove under the mask, as they clearly find it a task and a half making spidey look like anything more than a Gamecube sprite as it is.

I liked the drawn out broom cupboard scene. Poor Peter with his uselss life. To quote Aunt May, sort of 'you do too much! you're not superman, you know'.

And thank Lee and Ditko he most certainly isn't.

Superman is shit.

> authentic clunky dialogue

Actually on this very point can someone explain to me why Spidey isn't funny in the movies? In the comics the banter in the action scenes is hilarious: one of Spidey's defining characteristics is his irreverent cheeky banter.

In the films - nothing.

Also did you notice the painful editing in the early pizza-delivery scenes? Note the pointlessly dragged-out scenes of...

Peter quietly taking straps off pizza boxes? And nothing else?

Struggling with the broom closet for about 15 minutes?

Riveting.

The clunky dialogue rocked my ass. Sounded like it was taken straight from the 60's comic (some of it definitely was, such as the classic 'Spider-Man no more'). The fact it was in a modern context made it sound fantastically wrong. There's a hero inside us all! Yo! Molina did the Doc Ock smile perfectly, eh no? Bruce Campbell is chingod. Stan Lee helps people again. Yesssssss. Talk to me in a car, uncle.

Photo: www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk on the photo page from last friday, on the last page. If that makes any sense. I'm sweaty and girlish. Oh my!

> didn't do nearly enough cool stuff

Sounds like ya did all right to me ya great nonce.

> Spider-Man 2

Featuring Kirsten's Obligatory Nipple Shot, aye yi yi!!
I liked Dr Ocky in this film. I did not like some of the clunky dialogue in this film.

> the club's website

Which is..?
You know you want to.

> Katie Meluahahlluahah dedicated a song to me in Glasgow

Look out silicon carbide, here comes a new superlative for hardness. Grr.

Back from London. Am now bankrupt. Didn't do nearly enough cool stuff. Tate Modern trip cut short by sister and her boyfriends hatred of arty shite. Couldn't find trousers that fit. Bought awesome Storm fae X-Men badge and spiky pink wrist-thing. Saw Belle et Seb. Saw terrible battle of bands. Saw Spider-Man 2 (eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and Farenheit 911 (eeh.). Went to 'indie' clubs and danced like a bastard, resulting in a sweet photo of me and friend Dave Peasland, making us look like the happiest lovers in town. A photo that is on the club's website. Hurrah!

Londoners don't seem to enjoy dancing.

Did other stuff. Can't remember. Watched too many DVD's. Never saw Carnaby Street. Repeated travel on tube makes me imagine horrible acts of ultraviolence. Never saw ex-flatmate and awesome pal Cassia, who I haven't seen in a year. Grumble. Found out sister knows Katie Meluahahlluahah and that she had dedicated a song to me in Glasgow. Why would I be at a Katie Whatever gig in Glasgow? I'm a hipster toughguy (right?)!

Forbidden Planet had the comics I wanted. Rough Trade had none of the records. Bah.

London: Sweaty, dirty city. It ripped my money from my pocket, and what was left of my soul from wherever my soul lives.

London > The only place I've ever visited that beats the Ed. London rocks! Enjoy. Fred and I are heading towards the end of August for a weekend of obscene intoxication/indulgence. Can't wait.

The closest thing I have to waterproof clothes is my dinner jacket > Omg. Could you be any more debonair? Good work.

I'm getting buffed and oiled and ready for London fun. Train leaves tomorrow at 11. Hurrah! Not seen sister for fucking ages. Only see her about once a year. Hope we don't hate each other.

I also hope to find some sort of Casio pop London hipster band playing a gig. I may or may not be successful.

I hope Scotland gets all the rain. The closest thing I have to waterproof clothes is my dinner jacket.

Remember to go and see Starsailor at T! (Urrrrgh)
