So in my typical manner I was searching for truth and info-relief after my memory was tickled by the phrase “Call Me Kenneth”, seemingly from nowhere. I suspected it was something from 80s-era 2000AD.
So I’m googling away, and rather than comic results the CMK phrase comes back with comical ones instead.
Take the fascinating tale of transgender Jessica Evelyn, and her painful Female-to-Male (FTM) journey to become troll-haired cock-bearer Ken McFarlane.
This story climaxes with her imploring her disapproving mother: “Call me Kenneth!”, as is predictable by this point. This pales however next to the frankly astonishing revelation that she named her new masculine persona after… Emperor Palpatine’s grandson in Star Wars.
‘Ken Palpatine’? Surely quasi-eevil at best. Mind you after thinking Ken Masters would have been good inspiration, she wins hands down.
Thankfully I wasn’t disappointed by the results for the true Call-Me-Kenneth. As we all know, this rogue droid started the infamous Robot Wars of Mega-City One. At the genesis of this rampage we get the classic panel (click to zoom in):
The latter line now being my tedious catchphrase of the week. The interweb wins again!
