no torture please, we’re british: in the spirit of fairness I wanted to mention this lot, but there is real doubt over the Brit pics. I’d like to think British forces would lean toward professionalism rather than ignorant towelhead-beating, but it’s hard not to be cynical.
The US are deeply in the shit though without question.
The infuriating hypocrisy for me is the double standard involved. If the filthy barbarian enemies show our POWs on TV and smack them about a bit, then our leaders shriek War Crime and Geneva and demand they all be fucking hanged. If our lads do the same and worse, the media gets all coy and half-a-dozen meatheads get their wrists slapped. *grinds teeth*
Think about the result if the current US photo crop were reversed. If photos emerged of US prisoners being gleefully stripped and sexually humiliated, the western world would go absolutely fucking bananas.
