Well it took a few days longer than I expected, but the shift is complete. We’re now on a hardcore hosting service with googlybits of space, secure shell access, mySQL databases and all sorts. It’ll take a wee while to figure out the new templates and restore all the bits and pieces, but the new style is pretty, no?
Of course the overwhelming irony is that the very day we shifted to movable type, it was announced that they were introducing a new, much-despised licensing model for the next version. In other words, kewl new features will cost $$$ from now on.

Well, amusingly MT provides near-zero assistance in formatting your entries and links.
If you’re hobbling along in IE there are some obscure keyboard shortcuts, but this is hardly good enough.
There are various plugins (woo!) we can install to make formatting easier: as soon as I find the best one it’ll be in.
Until then it’s HREF as usual I’m afraid : )

Good work with the site Aaron, looks like it’s been wrapped in foil for added freshness. Also, good work with the photos from the recent, infamous party! A few of them made me giggle, particularly the photo of Angus when he’s fallen asleep, but still looks like he’s chewing his gum.
Phil and Lizzie, however, get on my tits. Lizzie’s a quasi-glorified slapper, and Phil was pressuring me into taking pills. Jesus christ, just because I can still feel my teeth doesn’t mean I’m not having a good time.
But yeah, taking a turn off crabbit turnpike: good work shin!
