all the fact that’s fit to news

A wee summary of US-politik with minimum hate-filled oratory.

This bloke O’Neill published a book* claiming Bush’s Republicans were after Saddam from day one, regardless of WoMD. The elections are this year; Senator Kennedy says the war has been manipulated cynically and as a political product.
These are the candidates who will hopefully oust the monkey. The military-but-left-of-Bush candidate, Wesley Clark was happy about O’Neil’s book. If the Democrats do win it leaves Blair in a very weak position, as he has chosen to back the big Republican horse that nobody else likes. And not the nice friendly Democrat horse. So to speak.

* great quotes as reported by Wired:

Rumsfeld said he had “enormous respect” for Bush, “his brain, his engagement, his interest, his probing questions, his constructive and positive approach to issues.”

…the tone of O’Neill’s relationship with Bush was set at their first meeting, when the president showed more interest in ordering cheeseburgers than a detailed discussion.

…early in his presidency Bush decided to put Middle East peace efforts on the back burner, saying at one point that more bloodshed might be “the best way to get things back in balance.”

O’Neill said Bush initially gave him the nickname Pablo. Later he started calling him “Big O.” O’Neill viewed this as “a bully technique. ‘I’ve given you a name. Now you wear it’.”
