If anyone is around in Edinburgh the weekend of the 4th/5th October and they fancy going to see an absolutely fantastic film then look no further than the Filmhouse and the utterly charming Etre et Avoir.
I simply cannot recommend this film enough… During a week off at the end of August I was bored and stumbled by the Cameo to see what was on. It was there that I discovered this gem, sitting on my own at the back of the cinema, and I will admit that I was reduced to tears on a number of occasions while watching it. There is no pretense involved whatsoever – it’s a straightforward point-and-shoot documentary – and this is what helps make it so involving.
Go and see it. And if you don’t believe me check out what this guy says about it.
