i’m back…

Due to my lack of posts lately you have probably guessed that I have been on holiday. Not on holiday per se, unless you count a trip to a field in Leeds and countless trips to Edinburgh watering holes and nightclubs as a holiday. In which case, we’re on the same wavelength and should hang out.

Rock n roll holiday got off to a start with our second gig in Bannermans on the 21st August. I amazed myself with my anxiety beforehand but this was settled somewhat by the consumption a few bottles of Budvar… ahhhhh. The mighty Bee Thousand took to the stage at about 10.30 and played a pretty decent 40 minute set.

highlights:

- a much tighter band
- no broken drumsticks
- a big-up for the stu from ryan
- more enjoyment onstage

lowlights:

- a couple of moments when guitars went out of tune
- a dodgy bass amp

Overall a pretty good night, with some good positive reactions from pals and workmates. My friend Caroline told Aaron that we played so loud her ‘inner ears were aching and so was her stomach’. Excellent work. We also had a girl taking promotional photographs who only managed to get through one roll before quitting because she was being exposed to too much noise. I fucking love that.

I was pretty optimistic and thought I could write about the gig, Leeds and my entire week off all in the same post but there’s no fucking way I’m going to manage that. I’ll write about all that tomorrow as the entire team are off apart from me and no doubt I’ll be bored shitless. Or stressed to the max.
