A good year for Scots-Irish relations; potato-munching Orla and friends were over in the burgh so we met up for drinking. P Moseley and Harry were hilariously nicknamed ‘Tie Boy’ and ‘Dawson’ respectively. Harry’s riposte – that they were all rejects from Hollyoaks – was well delivered though. A fun weekend.
Day off yesterday, went to see Secretary. It leans slightly toward implausibility at one stage, and the pacing is unhurried but overall I loved it. Probably needs a second viewing to appreciate the Badalamenti score though.
Rounded off the weekend with a reverent tindersticks performance at Queens Hall. A beautiful sound but not helpful in the context of post-weekend blues : /
