The party kicked off on Friday night at about 20.30 and continued until about 05.30 (for me anyway). I think the last people left somewhere around 7am. I must admit that it did get quiet at the reasonably early time of 3am, this being due to the weekend working commitments of some of the hardcore posse, P Moseley and A Bell included. Although A Bell did stay over at mine cause he was well up for it.

Some top quality guitar action was had too, this time the favourites being the ‘Head, Beach Boys (again) and the sublime Prayer to God by Shellac.

On the whole a good night was had by all and my flatmate Lizzy managed to make some new lifelong enemies which is always a laugh. I have never heard such harsh words used by certain workmates of mine with regard to another human being – completely justified of course. These vicious words almost rival the now legendary Princess Ginger Frog Mess tag.

And I managed to procure myself a new flatmate in the process, the axe-wielding Aileen. So that is nice.

Comedy prize of the night goes to Aaron for his comments regarding his favourite band: Radiohead. I had played The Bends on the guitar and about 5 mins after this (after about 5 failed attempts to play Paranoid Android) Aaron asks:

“Stu, what is the name of track 2 on The Bends…?”

“What??!!”, came the reply. Surely this man who loves this band knows the title track is track 2…

“The second track on The Bends…”

“It’s called The Bends…”

“Play that on the guitar…”

“I played it 5 minutes ago I think… Hold on… Paul, did I just play The Bends?”

“Yeah”, said Paul, reassuring me that I had indeed played it and wasn’t losing my mind; Aaron was just a little drunk ; )
