OK, this should give you a laugh…
I found a poster on eBay a while ago for ‘Low’ by David Bowie which I rate as one of the best albums ever. In my eBay madness I managed to win the item for a reasonable price but never bothered to check up on the credibility of the seller. I paid him by PayPal over a month ago and have been chasing him up via email since…
…only today did I think to have a look at his feedback…

ha, that’s the worst record I’ve seen : )
The moral of the story is always check feedback, even if score is high (+177 here).
I’ve only just learned this myself – ordered a Saturn from some welsh chap and heard nothing for 3 weeks. Looked at his feedback, to find user not registered. This means their account has been suspended – this is bad.
Two things to try if it all goes wrong:
(i) eBay has an ‘user info request’ feature, only available if you’re in a transaction with someone. This will usually get you their home address, phone number etc. and is guaranteed to wake them up.
(ii) excerpt from my email to welsh bloke:
“If there is any problem with the transaction I’m willing to accept a refund.
I’m sure this is just a delay, but I must mention that you have my money and I am not prepared to lose it. In the first instance I will work through the eBay Investigations team. Failing that, I will have no choice but to raise a case with the Small Claims court.”
Worked in this case: he mailed me back straight away.
